Meet the family

Rooted in the Carolina foothills

We are second-generation farmers raising dairy goats, heritage chickens, and—of course—Great Pyrenees that watch over everyone with calm confidence.

Family with Great Pyrenees

Our story

Once Upon a Pyrenees began when our first guardian, Valor, bonded to our daughter’s bottle goats. Watching him gently patrol the fence line sparked our devotion to preserving the breed’s intuition and softness.

Care & socialization

Puppies are raised indoors for the first weeks, then transition to the barn nursery with livestock sounds, obstacle play, and crate-intro sessions. Daily ENS handling builds resilience.

Breeding standards

We pair OFA hips/elbows, Embark DNA panels, and proven working temperaments. Our contract covers spay/neuter timelines, health guarantees, and lifetime breeder support.
